ANZAC TERRACE RESERVE

Public BBQ

Tucked into Bassendean's heart, ANZAC Terrace Reserve is one of those unpretentious neighbourhood gems Australians do so well. Mature trees shade this compact green space where families gather around barbecue facilities while children tackle the playground with fearless determination. The reserve doubles as an off-lead dog park, though it sits rather optimistically next to a busy roundabout - testament to either exceptional canine training or admirable owner faith. The basketball half-court attracts hopefuls, while the bocce area provides sedate alternatives for mellowed sporting ambitions. What strikes you most is the genuine community spirit. Any afternoon finds neighbours chatting by the water fountain, children making friends, and occasional impromptu sing-alongs among gathered families. Toilets are functional, the Town of Bassendean maintains everything admirably, though lighting after dark disappoints.
